The two adagio movements of this Oboe Quartet are based on themes composed when Treuille was a teenager. The central, Allegretto movement recalls the cold grip winter has over nature, and reflects on life and death.

Une barque sur l’océan (A Boat on the Ocean), in F♯ minor, written for Paul Sordes, recounts a boat as it sails upon the waves of the ocean. Arpeggiated sections and sweeping melodies imitate the flow of ocean currents. It is the longest piece of the set of five.
Sergei Rachmaninoff – Polka Italienne (1906) – 4 minutes

This is a one-piano arrangement of Rachmaninoff’s original two-piano composition, which begins in D minor and ends in A major.

In French With English Subtitles ( IFWES) will present its third annual film festival December 2nd, 3rd, and 4th , 2011 at the Florence Gould Hall, located at 55 East 59th Street in Manhattan.This unique, not-for-profit film festival, backed by French actor/director, Pascal Elbe, not only appeals to francophones and francophiles alike, but it is organized entirely by a team of volunteers who donate the net proceeds to charity.The weekend’s line-up of nine newly released french films promises to be an exciting one, launched by a Gala event after Friday’s opening night movie.
